26.6.17 - An update from Music Director Paul Pickering, that all musicians are going to play all the correct notes, perhaps not in the right order but they will do their best!

The Northern Soul group have backed out and will not be attending, which is disappointing but it is their decision. On a plus side Scarborough Hockey Squad are planning on attending to do exhibits and 'come and have a go' sessions on the Saturday.

10.6.17 - The field has been cut twice and is looking a picture. The long range weather forecast is very favourable so with a bit of luck we will be in for a cracking weekend!

8.6.17 - Redgate garage are sponsoring the Marquee stage this year and we thank Chris and his team for their support. Redgate Garage is well respected in the area, based at Flixton this young team have built up a good reputation for servicing , repairs and come highly recommended by alot of the Staxtonbury team.

As promised we are holding a fun fashion show in the acoustic marquee 10am on Saturday 8th July 2017. This will be organised by the lovely Emma Teasdale with the assistance of some of her friends.

The idea of the show will be for any small businesses to come along for a few hours on the Saturday to exhibit some of their products within the show and then if they wish to, have a small stall in the arena on the afternoon for a few hours. A reduced rate for this will be allowed for bona fide exhibitors and limited dummies and models will be available. We have realised in the past that it is difficult for such small, mostly up and coming businesses, have trouble running a stall in the open air all weekend, which they have tried admirably in the past.

Anyone who wishes to take part should contact Emma on 07709124521 or This should be done asap as we already have some exhibitors and places will have to be limited on a first come basis.

22.5.17 - Good meeting tonight at The Mayfield in Seamer. Good turn out by the sound and lighting men. Good to see them and their plans, drawings and ipads. We guarantee it is going to be a heck of a show this year.

21.5.17 - The Jackdaws (from Driffield/Beverley) have agreed to step in to the slot vacated by The Groove Ninjas after they decided to part company. The Jackdaws have quickly built up a big reputation in the East Riding. They can be seen at the North Dalton Beer Festival on 27.5.17, they have the ex Blue Alibi drummer Nick Dixon in their ranks so we expect big things from them.

18.5.17 - Staxtonbury welcomes back local legend Jesse Hutchinson (Staxton). After a few years away we are pleased to have Jesse back on board to grace the Marquee Stage. He says he cannot wait to get the stackers crowd buzzing again!

16.5.17 - One of the alst acoustic artists to sign up for this year happens to be one of the best recording artists in the area. Alan Lewis, of Filey, is back from university and raring to go on the acoustic stage Friday evening. Alan has put his own slant on some favourite 80's tracks that sound brilliant. We cannot wait!!!

16.3.17 - A few dates for your diary This Sunday the 19th March sees a charity day organised by Blueskies promotions on behalf of SASH 3.30pm til late at Lendal Cellars York. We will be attending to hopefully catch a few prospective artists to complete the festival line-up........ Big Ian Donaghy (HUGE) organises his annual A Night to Remember featuring top York Artistes, we had a great night last year and this charity event promises to be even better, again all proceeds to St Leonards Hospice and Dementia charities please support this if you can its a great event. It is to be held on 13th April at the Barbican, York.

16.3.17 - Tyler Smith from Filey who has been performing with us for the past 5 years has let us know that he has been signed up by Gary Barlow to tour with the new musical Girls, this is no surprise to us as we have seen his potential to go all the way since he was very young. Sadly through the terms of his new contract he will not be able to make an appearance at this years festival , nevertheless we wish him all the best for the future and hope that he can give us a guest performance in years to come.. Tyler has been a pleasure to work with over these last few years and depicts what we are about in encouraging local artists to reach their true potential and give them the confidence to shine after appearing on a big stage in front of a big audience.

15.3.17 - Polygon (DJ Set) will be performing at Staxtonbury this year. He is a teenager from Bridlington so give him plenty of support and hopefully this gig will help him build up his portfolio. Best of luck!

28.2.17 - Chaz de Paulo get clearance from Donald Trump to come over from the USA to Staxtonbury to perform for us on the Friday night 7.7.17. For more information on him visit his website here.

22.2.17 - A Staxtonbury first. T.J's are bringing a small land train this year to run around the site to save the little ones legs.

2.2.17 - Mark Stanley has agreed to make a re appearance at this years festival he will be performing on the acoustic stage on Saturday 8th July. Also this Saturday should see Tyler Smith on his second appearance on the Let it Shine programme all the best to Tyler Let them see what you can do. Good luck!

5.1.17 - Check out our new Yorkshire Coast radio advert here!

4.1.17 - Congratulations to Tyler Smith from Filey on his forthcoming appearance on the new Gary Barlow programme this Saturday on BBC1 after appearing at Staxtonbury for the past 4 years, both with his band and singing solo. It would be great for him to show the nation how good he really is. Tyler has been performing and studying in London over the past few years and it would be brilliant to see him go all the way in this programme. He is a cracking lad and maybe the final Rule The World sing-a-long he does with Jez each year will stand him in good stead.

Described by NME as "... with a varied line-up from folk to hard rock, Staxtonbury is easily North Yorkshire's most notable musical event"
