Hi everybody, welcome to Staxtonbury 2019, North Yorkshire’s top family music festival. Now in our eleventh year and still going from strength to strength. Read on to see what new concepts we have in store for you this year. For starters, even more music, more entertainments, new bands, new stages, and also an extra night’s camping available if you wish.
Before we go any further with what’s new, we must say a massive thank you to everyone who came along last year to support our tenth anniversary party weekend, and what a party it was. The crowd were brilliant all weekend, as was the weather (again we were blessed as usual with lovely sunshine all weekend). The field, the bears, the layout, all the stages, together with the sound and lighting were all fabulous. A massive thanks to Tom, Ant, Ian, Paul, Rob and Jack for all their efforts. The bands and entertainers were exceptional all weekend and with the concessions pulling out all the stops, along with the England football team doing their bit, the feel good factor hit maximum and helped to make it the best weekend ever. This was all reflected in the thousands of smiling faces around the site on the Saturday afternoon and the hundreds of great comments we received both during and after the festival, we do appreciate it.
Last but not least, festival organisers don’t usually like to mention security and first aid but it wouldn’t be right not to say how impressed we were with both of them. The security were on the ball all weekend and dealt with everything just how we asked, firm but fair, whilst the first aiders were brilliant all weekend, going over and above expectations in keeping everyone safe from the effects of the sun and in dealing with the incidents that arose.
Anyway, back on to this year...
Any bands, artists, food outlets etc please contact Ray Roberts directly and not through Facebook. His contact details are on this website. Many thanks.
The New Weekend Format
After much consultation with many of you, we have decided to make Staxtonbury an even longer weekend for anyone who wants even more fun and excitement. This year, as a trial, we are starting a day earlier on Thursday 4th July 2019, having a longer day on Friday 5th (2pm to late) and the same as usual on Saturday 6th (12 noon to late). Whilst on the Sunday you will be able to have a lie-in, have breakfast and then pack up at your leisure. This new format allows you to have an extra night’s stay and five hours more entertainment, which in turn gives more bands and artists chance to have a go on our fantastic stages.
Of course, you can still come on a daily basis, or indeed any combination of the three days. Thursday will work out free if purchased with Friday/Saturday tickets. We hope some of you will be able to take Friday 5th July 2019 off to make this a long weekend for you, but don’t worry if you can’t as you will still get great value for your money if coming on Friday evening or on Saturday.
2018 Has seen a resurgence in the number of new local bands that have started up, some of which we have pencilled in for their Staxtonbury debuts in 2019. We have already booked massively popular Boomin, Huge, Soul Rida and Friday Street, along with the Essential Pet Shop Boys (tribute) and 2019 will see the return of the Cloughton Rat Pack. Of course, The Shamrockers and Blue Alibi will be there and lots of the new bands including a Fleetwood Mac tribute, and some 1960s and 70s covers bands, that will form part of our new idea of having a dedicated 70s and 80s stage on the evenings.
Magic Mike and friends will be adorning the kids stage along with the top local entertainer Ryan Swain and his cheeky friend Frank Lamingo. The Moo Music Crew will be hosting music sessions for the little ones and there will be plenty of activities from ages three to 93. Fiona’s Arts and Craft Marquee is going to be busier than ever.
You will need to book your tickets as soon as you can as we are only licensed for 5000 and that the applications for tickets is sure to exceed this year. After the success of last years initiative we will be offering early bird tickets again on weekend tickets purchased before midnight on 1st April 2019, so get your numbers together asap and don’t delay, and save, save, save.
It all sounds very exciting and come 4th July 2019 it will be, don’t worry about that. Staxtonbury is by far the safest music festival in the country, we have a small army of security guards who have been with us for many years, and along with all our regular stewards and staff, most of whom have been with us since the day we started, we pride ourselves on establishing a safe environment which in turn creates a lovely friendly ambience. However, on the other hand, we do know how to have a good time and create a party atmosphere that is well known along the coast and throughout the county. So if you are a regular festival goer or want to give festivals a try for the first time, you need look no further than Staxtonbury 2019, you will be in good hands.
See our past promo videos, interviews and photo galleries to see what we are about, or ask our regulars, and then come along and see for yourselves, “you won’t be disappointed”. Set in 24 acres of specially prepared grassland (all one big field) at Manor Farm, Staxton, near Scarborough, with panoramic views towards the Vale of York and the Yorkshire Wolds, it’s the perfect place to have a family/work gathering of like minded people who like to eat, drink, dance, sing, listen to music and laugh until Tony’s cows come home. It really is that good!
You can book with confidence. We will be on come rain or shine, there is no better value in the country. There are no hidden extras for parking cars, or for camper vans, caravans/awnings, etc. and no administration costs, with postage, etc. Come along and join in the biggest party in North Yorkshire on 2019.
You might want to check out some excerpts from years gone by on Youtube, to see what its like. One things for sure and that is you will see lots of smiling faces of people old and young and some in between having a good time, laughing and joking, singing and having lots of fun, let your hair down, get into party mode and come along for more fun and laughter than you have ever had in one weekend. Make sure you are part of it and have the time of your life.
If you have any questions, queries or concerns that are not addressed on the FAQs page contact Ray (07798655416) or Mark (07784233986) and we will try and help you.
Hope to see you all (old friends and new) in the summer.
